Murder in the Brothel Garden
by Steven D. Malone

Galveston Bookshop will host a book signing on Saturday, July 27th, 2:00-4:00 p.m. with author Steven D. Malone and his gangster mystery set in 1920s Galveston.

Book synopsis: The setting is the “Free State of Galveston,” 1925. A body turns up in the gardens of an upscale brothel and Connor Miles, who works for one of the local gangs, is put to the task of finding the killer as well as protecting a possible witness; Livia is one of the working girls at the Handmaiden’s social club. It’s the madam there, Dianne Starr, who wants the killer found, and she has pull with Connor’s employer along with a lot of other power players in Prohibition Era Galveston. Connor and Livia take a shine to one another as the action heats up around the question of whodunnit and why, in this imaginative tale culled from Galveston’s colorful past.
