Established in 1991, Galveston Bookshop is located in downtown Galveston’s historic Strand shopping district, and offers the area’s greatest selection of used and out-of-print books.

We offer a full range of fiction and non-fiction used books organized by category, a complete line of Galveston history and 1900 Storm books, new and used, specialty sections including Texana and Southwest, as well as vintage maps, postcards, and magazines, audio books, comic books, videos and CDs, and vinyl LPs.

The store is located on Tremont St. (23rd St.) between Mechanic and Market right across from the Bank of America’s main branch. We are just a block and a half from Strand, right in the middle of the historical shopping district and near the cruise ship terminal. There’s plenty of shopping, dining and entertainment in the immediate area.

After Hurricane Ike in September of 2008, we completely remodeled the first floor of the store. New tile was installed and replacement shelving was generously donated by Bookland in Spring, TX and Half Price Books.
