While Galveston has been a major national tourist destination for more than a hundred years, some of the Island’s most interesting and overlooked features are found away from the Gulf beaches which, along with the Strand historic shopping district, have been the main attractions for visitors. Over 80 points of interest are featured along with annual events, themed scavenger hunts, favorite restaurants and hotels, plus an index.
