A week after the storm cleared we returned to find the store had taken in 7 feet of water.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/galvestonbookshop.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/ike-cracked-mud.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/galvestonbookshop.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/ike-cracked-mud.jpg\" alt=\"Cracked Mud\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1098\" srcset=\"https:\/\/galvestonbookshop.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/ike-cracked-mud.jpg 500w, https:\/\/galvestonbookshop.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/ike-cracked-mud-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThere was a layer of mud covering all the streets and sidewalks.
