The Troves of Zac Love
by Joy Jones and Jim Nelson

In early September of 1900 a young dock worker named Zac Love sets out on a fishing voyage with his young son and best friend, leaving his wife and other two children at home on Galveston Island. In his absence, the Great Storm of 1900 strikes and thus begins his journey through a long life of relationships, treasure-hunting adventure, and spiritual growth. The loss of his remaining family marks a crucial turning point in his life, though he has no idea that his lost love’s spirit will return to comfort and guide him.

Zac’s long life of 85 years is a tale of tears, truth and intrigue that involves some of Galveston’s most famous and infamous characters, beginning with a pirate named Laffite.

Joy Jones and her husband Jim Nelson live in Galveston. Joy retired from a life in education and Jim, from a career as an engineer in the oil and gas industry.

Their previous novel, “Billy Love” is also set in Galveston, and Joy’s book “The Last Madam” is a novelization of the famous Texas Chicken Ranch.
